School Starter Kit
Looking to purchase items for your teachers, counselors, and support staff? All staff at all schools are in constant need of supplies - but what are the items they truly need? How can we best support our staff? It can be overwhelming searching through TPT, Amazon, TikTok, and Pinterest for the perfect items for our schools. But it doesn't have to be!
I have spent the time curating a list of what I believe are the must-haves for schools to get started or continue diving deeper into creating a calm and positive school culture. Your staff and students deserve the best products and supports, and that is why I have included simple, yet effective resources that I know, love, and have used in classrooms all over.
You can check out the entire School Starter Kit on my Amazon Storefront, but here are my highlights!
Books
As you might be able to tell by now, I love books, and a huge part of my passion is built up in curating lists of books that can help us teach and address the various situations that we may face in our classrooms.
In the School Starter Kit, I have added some of my favorites - for both kids and teachers - that are a great start to building a school culture that promotes a calm, regulated learning space. Building these classroom libraries is a simple, yet effective way of supporting teachers in creating a regulated classroom learning space, and ultimately, a regulated and calm school environment.
Fidgets/Calm Space Supplies
While Social Emotional Learning isn't about the stuff, some items can assist us in TEACHING and PRACTICING social emotional and coping skills.
Schools and classrooms everywhere are thriving on classroom supports where students can self-identify emotions, appropriately remove themselves for a break in a calm space, use tangible items to regulate, and rejoin the group plan.
Build up your teachers' classroom calm space and watch your school culture shift into one that not only talks about SEL but practices it every day.
You can find my favorite Calm Space supplies in my post about my Calm Space Starter Kit!
SELebrate Good Times Community
So many people and schools have got it all WRONG.
This past year, I truly learned (most of it…the hard way) just what organizations, people, foundations, authors, speakers, and presenters I am in alignment with.
Because to me, this work is EVERYTHING.
In fact, to me…I believe that you can’t do ANY OTHER TYPE OF LEARNING…or WORK…without it.
Because people (all people…and of all ages) need to understand how the world works BEFORE they can be successful and work in the social world.
I’ve got LOTS to share about the changes, the ahas, the triumphs, and lots of those roadblocks and challenges with this community through multiple channels. You and your staff can access SELebrate Good Times through our free Becoming to B.I.S.O.N. Facebook Group, our Heart Hero Teaching Professional Development and Visual Bundle, or by following me on Instagram and Pinterest to get first access to daily content to best support your students!
It’s genuine, heart-centered collaboration and connection so that you can feel lighter, happier, and LOVE your job!
My goal is to give you the stuff that NO ONE is talking about.
I can’t wait to give you exactly what you need to hear NOW! You don’t want to get THIS wrong.
Add these items and introduce this community to your classrooms, create a positive school culture and climate that supports the social and emotional needs of all students, and promote common systems and a common language across your entire campus.
